One cellphone, two numbers?

I'm thinking of giving up the landline, but I don't want to give up the
landline number, which is well known by many friends.

I already have a cellphone# (tmobile prepaid). What is the best way to keep
my landline number so that both the landline and the cellphone number would
end up reaching my cellphone?

If google voice allows me to bring my own number, I could simple bring my
landline number and have google voice forward the call to my cellphone. But
I heard it doesn't allow users to bring their own numbers. There are a
number of services similar to google voice that may allow this, is this the
best route to go?

Is there any advantage to having two cellphone accounts, one for each
number? Perhaps I can buy a dual sim phone and carry only one.

Or is there a cellphone service that allows you to have multiple numbers?

The best solution is that buy a used dual sim cell phone which i
available at cheap rate as compare to new one

Nope.
Alternate Line Service (ALS) allows to have two voice numbers on one
simcardi [1].
However, it is not available from tmobile, nor from any other of the
major GSM-providers in the US, at least to my knowledge.
You might want to check that further.
For instance, you could subscribe to a second voice line with rogers.com [2],
There might be local GSM providers in the US that offer ALS, too.
Verizon offers a comparable service, though.

Chris
