The fourth generation of cellular technology. Basically everything
(SMS, Voice (with VOIP), VVMS, etc) is moving to the internet, 4G also
introduces faster data speeds.

But according to the OP's link, the HTC Evo 4G will be running exclusive
to Sprint, who do not seem to run an LTE network.
